| Climate The Florida panhandle offers one of the lowest total numbers of heating and cooling degree days on the east coast. In addition, because it is adjacent to the Gulf of Mexico, the extremes of temperature are further moderated and influenced by the gulf breezes. The average temperature ranges for the area for winter, spring, and summer are listed below:
